When Private Properties Need Extra Security

  • Occupied Homes

People may arrange extra security for the home they live in after unwanted attention, repeated trespass, a recent incident or concerns about access. Patrols are planned around residents, visitors, children and pets.

  • Homes for Rent or Sale

Cover can protect rental properties between tenants, homes being prepared for a new tenancy and privately owned homes waiting to be sold.

  • Homes Under Renovation & New Builds

We can cover a home being renovated, rebuilt or newly constructed, including several buildings during a phased project.

  • Private Estates & Outbuildings

Patrols can cover agreed driveways, gates, gardens, garages and outbuildings alongside locks, alarms and cameras.

Once we understand the property and the concern, we can recommend the most suitable cover.

Private Home Security Risks That Need a Clear Response

We focus on the access points, activity and incidents that shape the patrol plan.

Alarms, Cameras & Blind Spots

Cameras and alarms may not cover every gate, driveway or outbuilding. Patrols add a visible presence and clear reporting where technology leaves gaps.

Gates, Driveways & Outbuildings

Long driveways, side gates, garages, stables and other buildings can create extra routes onto the property.

Recent Break-In or Trespass

After a break-in or trespass, temporary patrols can provide a visible presence while locks, gates, lighting and alarms are checked.

Renovation, Rebuilding & New Builds

Open access points, contractors, tools and materials can create extra risk while a home is being renovated, rebuilt or newly constructed.

Rural Homes & Weekend Absences

A rural or secluded home may be quieter and farther from neighbours. Weekend travel or longer absences can also leave the property without its usual day-to-day presence.

Multiple Homes, Estates & Valuable Property

Several homes, an estate or multiple buildings may need one coordinated patrol plan for gates, driveways, grounds and valuable items.

How Security Dog Handlers Support Your Property

Every assignment is planned around the people, animals and concerns on the property.

The dog stays with the handler, under control, and is never left alone or used to chase people.

Before patrols start, we agree the working areas, hours and essential site arrangements.

A Visible Presence

A uniformed handler and trained security dog make it clear that the property is being watched during the agreed patrol.

Watching Entry Points

Patrols focus on driveways, gates, side access and other areas identified during the property assessment.

Spotting Changes

Open gates, damage, broken windows, disturbed fencing and other changes can be recorded and reported.

Planned Patrol Times

Patrol times and routes can vary within the agreed plan, so the service is not completely predictable.

Clear Reports

The nominated contact receives clear notes about what was seen, what happened and what follow-up may be needed.

Agreed Next Steps

The handler follows the agreed process and contacts the nominated person or emergency services when appropriate.

Security Cover
For Private
Homes & Estates

Choose patrol cover around the property, the risk and the hours when support is needed.

Each deployment is planned around how the site operates, what needs protecting and where patrol visibility will have the strongest deterrent effect.

  • Overnight & Weekend Patrols

Extra checks when residents are away, the household is travelling at weekends or a second home is not being used.

  • Urgent Security After an Incident

Urgent patrols while locks, fences, lights, alarms or cameras are checked and repaired.

  • Large Grounds & Multiple Buildings

Patrols for large gardens, long driveways, several buildings and more than one entrance.

  • Security During Building Work

Agreed patrols while contractors are working and tools, materials or open access points are on site during renovation, rebuilding or new construction.

  • Empty Property & Handover Cover

Support for a privately owned home that is empty after renovation, waiting to be marketed or sold, or between owners or tenants.

  • Rural Access & Driveways

Extra attention for quiet driveways, gates and approaches at rural or secluded properties.

How Residential Security Cover Works

A Clear Plan for Your Property

We assess the property, agree the brief, deploy the team and report what happens.

Step 1

Tell us about the property

We ask about the location, who uses it, entrances, outbuildings, recent incidents and the hours when cover is needed.

Step 2

Agree the patrol plan

We agree safe patrol areas, areas to avoid, keys, contacts, working hours and what the service can and cannot cover.

Step 3

Brief the K9 team

The handler is briefed on the property, the agreed risks, the working hours and your instructions before patrols begin.

Step 4

Patrol, Record & Report

The handler records damage, unusual signs or incidents and reports them to the agreed contact. Emergency services are contacted where appropriate.

Need Urgent Security After an Incident?

After a break-in, during building work or while a property is empty, we can assess urgent security needs and arrange short-term or ongoing residential security dog patrols. This depends on safe access, site information and availability.

Questions About Residential Security?

Clear answers about security dog handlers and patrols for private homes, estates, second homes and rural properties.

How much does residential security cost?

The price depends on the property, patrol areas, hours, travel, outbuildings and level of risk. We review the details before giving a tailored quote.

Can you patrol an occupied home?

Possibly. We can assess agreed outdoor areas and access routes around an occupied home. Some residents arrange cover because of unwanted attention, repeated trespass, a recent incident or concerns about access. We plan around residents, children, pets, neighbours and normal household activity.

Will the dog be left alone at the property?

No. The dog works with its trained handler at all times. The handler remains responsible for control and safe working.

Can you cover a second home or holiday property?

Yes. We can assess patrols for a second or holiday home while it is empty, during weekend travel or between visits, provided safe access, patrol areas, keys and reporting contacts are agreed.

What happens after a break-in?

Follow the police, emergency service and insurer instructions first. We will not ask a handler to enter an unsafe building. Security cover can be assessed when the property and access routes are safe.

Can you patrol a private estate or large rural property?

Yes. We can assess country estate security dog patrols where gates, outbuildings, driveways, public paths and safe patrol routes can be agreed. If there are several homes or buildings, we can coordinate them into one plan.

Do you provide personal protection or bodyguards?

No. Colosseum K9 provides property security dog-and-handler patrols, not close protection or personal security.

How do you protect privacy during residential security patrols?

We only collect the information needed for safe deployment and clear reporting, including access details, residents, guests, pets, neighbours and public footpaths.

Are security dogs safe around workers and visitors?

The dog stays with its trained handler. Patrols are planned around workers, visitors, entrances and public areas. Any concern is reported using the agreed process.
