A rural construction site in the Doncaster area needed additional security once normal site activity stopped. With limited natural surveillance and a large area to cover, the client wanted a visible presence that could actively check the site during quieter periods.
Colosseum K9 was brought in to provide security dog handler cover.
At a Glance
Site: Rural construction site
Location: Doncaster area
Risk: Trespass, theft and out-of-hours exposure
Service: Security dog handler
The Challenge
The site became considerably more exposed once workers had left.
Its rural location meant there was less passing traffic, fewer occupied premises nearby and less chance of suspicious activity being noticed naturally.
Materials, equipment and other assets remained on site, creating concerns around trespass, attempted theft, damage and the disruption an incident could cause to ongoing work.
The size of the site was also important. The client needed more than observation from a single position. Different access points, boundaries and working areas needed to be checked throughout the period of cover.
What We Did
Colosseum K9 deployed a security dog handler to provide an active presence across the site.
The handler and dog could move between relevant areas, check access points, boundaries and exposed parts of the premises, and identify anything that required attention.
The dog remained under controlled handling throughout the deployment, with reporting and escalation carried out where required.
For this type of rural site, the main advantage was mobility. Security was not limited to one fixed position while other parts of the premises remained out of view.
The Result
The deployment gave the client a stronger visible security presence during the periods when the site was most exposed.
Regular movement around the premises improved coverage across the wider site and made it clearer that the location was actively guarded after normal working activity had stopped.
It also meant potential concerns could be identified and reported directly rather than relying on passive site measures alone.
For this Doncaster construction site, security dog handler cover provided a practical additional layer where rural surroundings, a large site area and reduced natural surveillance created the main security challenge.
